Some (hopefully) useful tips about sportsbetting (online or offline) !
Betting on sports with online or “real” bookmakers is more about ability than it is about luck. The challenge is to collect as much information as possible to evaluate the chances of a certain sporting event, then compare your opinion with that of the sportsbooks and decide wether to risk the bet or not. If you are “better” in analyzing the game or tournament than the bookie, you`ll win.
Luck is, of course, also a contributing aspect. Sometimes it will be on your side, sometimes it will not. Over time it will even out, though. Therefore, to become a consistant winner, you don`t need luck.
It is absolutely essential to invest the time and effort to become an expert in evaluating all the important factors, that contribute to the outcome of a certain event. Become an expert in one or more sports ! Choose the ones you like the most anyway.
Once you have found your personal winning strategy, you need disciplin and continuity to become a long-term winner.
That does not happen in sports with higher scoring. In American Football, Volleyball, Hockey or Basketball, if a team is far superior it`ll win in almost all cases. It can be quite profitable to bet on heavy favourites in those sports, where else can you make a 10-20% gain in 90 minutes ?
Tennis on the other hand, has a lot of upsets. Even the #1 tennisplayer in the world can easily lose against the #78 in the ATP or WTA rankings, it happens all the time. On the other hand, this also gives you the chance for very rewarding odds, should you “know a little” about tennis.
The most important thing: Only bet with money, you can afford to lose. If you have to win to pay your bills, chances are you`ll lose ! Sportsbetting is and should be fun for most of us. If you decide to make a living with it, then it has to be treated like any other job. So be prepared to spend hours of analyzing, keep active betting accounts with a few dozen bookmakers, compare all the odds and take advantage of every bonus, surebet and so on.
